"Kickboxing," as the name suggests, combines boxing and kicking to create beauty, as well as self-defense.

There are two types of kickboxing; American and Thai (MUAY THAI). American kickboxing has been around for about 250 years and consists of American-style boxing with the addition of kicks above the waist from all styles of Martial Arts (Japanese, Chinese & Korean.)

American kickboxing is an exciting and physical contact sport with explosive visual impact; from side kicks to the spinning back fist, all using skilled techniques. Thai kickboxing is called "MUAY THAI," which is translated as Thai-boxing or Thailand fighting. It has been Thailand's national sport for about 250 years. Thai kickboxing allows kicks, punches, knees, and elbows to be delivered to the head, torso or legs. This is why Thai fighters are known as "Kings of the Ring."

At Harding Taekwon-Do, we combine these two popular forms of fighting into a unique event, which has been met with sensational acceptance and has burst onto the American scene. Cardio kickboxing is the workout of a world kickboxer, but without the contact.

Kickboxing has a number of advantages that aerobics classes just cannot touch. Kickboxing has the same music, excitement, and energy as an aerobics workout, but it adds important self-defense techniques like jabbing, kicking, punching and blocking.
